The Avicenna Outreach Team received so many amazing applications this semester. After much consideration, we are happy to report that we have accepted 16 volunteers. Collectively, they speak French, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Urdu, Arabic, and Polish! Our new volunteers range from Sophomores in college to 2nd-year medical students and major in a wide variety of fields such as Bioengineering and Crop Sciences. The Outreach team has many projects lined up this semester. We are continuing our partnership with the Twin City Derby Girls and Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. Additionally, we will be attending numerous community health fairs in the next few months. We are all excited to expand the mission of Avicenna and continue to help bring excellent and free health care to the Champaign-Urbana community.
