Executive Directors
The Avicenna Executive Directors mediate the relationship between the Avicenna Board of Directors and the volunteer team leaders. They work to improve inter-team communication and promote collaboration, support team leaders in their initiatives, and help guide organization-level goals
Nicholas Nguyen
Nick is from Fairfax, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech with his Bachelor’s in Biological Systems Engineering in 2021. He made his start at Avicenna on the Lifestyle Medicine team before serving as the Executive Director. He is a fourth year medical student at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine and has interests in preventative care and public health.

Maxine Arnush
Maxine is from Los Angeles, California and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2017 with her degree in Bioengineering. She worked as a medical assistant in internal medicine for several years before starting medical school at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine in 2022. As a previous clinic manager, she is excited to step into the Executive Director role in 2024.
