Last Sunday Avicenna participated in the Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinic's #FreeAndCharitableClinicsWeek2015 by opening their doors after hours to community members, patients, volunteers and donors. Volunteers decorated the clinic with streamers, informational posters and helped organize activities for kids. They also provided some really delicious food.
Dr. Ahmad Irfan, ACHC president and founder spoke to the crowd--commenting on ACHC's mission to serve the impoverished with quality health care while constantly striving to innovate healthcare and it's delivery.
Katie Magerko, ACHC clinic manager and event coordinator thanked everyone for their attendance, explained the important of #FreeAndCharitableClinicsWeek2015 and encouraged everyone to participate in other similar events in our community this week.
Other members of the team spoke to the powerful impact ACHC has on the patients, the community and academia.
The event was a success and we look forward to participating in years to come.
